In keeping with this momentum, we are expanding our footprint into Spain and looking for the foundational hires who will build our Barcelona hub from the ground up.
About the Role
As our Founding Account Executive for Spain, you'll be responsible for driving revenue growth in the Spanish market from our Barcelona office. You'll own the sales process from qualified opportunity to signed customer, helping experience providers discover how Understory can support and grow their businesses.
You'll work closely with SDRs, Customer Success, and Marketing teams to create a seamless customer journey while providing valuable market insights that help shape our growth strategy in Spain.
What You'll Do
Own the full back end of the sales cycle for Spanish experience providers.
Conduct product demonstrations and consultative sales conversations.
Convert qualified leads into paying customers through effective negotiation and closing.
Collaborate with SDRs to ensure smooth transitions from prospecting to opportunity management.
Maintain accurate pipeline data and forecasting in CRM systems.
Share insights from the Spanish market to support product and commercial strategy.
Represent Understory at relevant events and networking opportunities.
What Success Looks Like
Months 1–3 - Onboarding & Pipeline: Complete onboarding, build pipeline ownership, and confidently manage sales conversations.
Months 4–6 - Closing: Consistently close new customers and establish a healthy sales pipeline.
Months 7–12 - Revenue: Achieve or exceed revenue targets while contributing to Understory's long-term growth in Spain.
What We're Looking For
Native level of Spanish and fluency in English (written and spoken).
2+ years of B2B sales experience, either as a top-performing SDR/BDR or as an Account Executive.
Strong negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.
A proactive and results-driven mindset with a passion for achieving goals.
Passion for experiences, travel, and supporting entrepreneurs.
Nice to have:
Experience within SaaS, hospitality, tourism, or experience-booking industries.
Existing network within the Spanish tourism or events sector.
Familiarity with CRM tools such as HubSpot, Salesforce, or Pipedrive.
Experience working in a startup or scale-up environment.
Additional European language capabilities.
